संस्कृतम् जगतः अतिप्राचीना समृद्धा शास्त्रीया च भाषा अस्ति। संस्कृतम् भारतस्य जगतस्य च भाषासु प्रचीनतमम् अस्ति। इयं भाषा भारती, सुरभारती, अमरभारती, अमरवाणी, सुरवाणी, गीर्वाणवाणी, गीर्वाणी, देववाणी, देवभाषा, दैवीवाक् इत्यादिभिः नामभिः प्रसिद्धा अभवत्। भारतीयभाषासु बाहुल्येन संस्कृतशब्दाः उपयुज्यन्ते। संस्कृतात् एव प्रायः सर्वा अपि भारतीयभाषाः उद्भूताः। तद्वदेव भारत-युरोपीय-भाषावर्गीयाः नैकाः भाषाः संस्कृतप्रभावं संस्कृतशब्दप्राचुर्यं वा प्रदर्शयन्ति।
Sanskrit Sanskrit (संस्कृतम् saṃskṛtam, originally संस्कृता वाक् saṃskṛtā vāk, "refined speech"), is a historical Indo-Aryan language and the primary liturgical language of Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism.
